UPDATE 10/27/25: We are starting to roll out Cumulative Update Build 27975.984 (KB5070899). This update does not include anything new and is designed to test our servicing pipeline for builds in the Canary Channel.

Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27975 to the Canary Channel.

What’s new in Build 27975​

[General] ​

  • This update includes a small set of general improvements and fixes that improve the overall experience for Insiders running this build on their PCs.

Fixes​

[Input]​

  • Fixed an issue impacting touch keyboard launch reliability in the latest Canary builds.

[Windows Hello]​

  • Fixed an issue impacting certain devices which was causing the Windows Hello PIN to not work after upgrading to the latest Canary builds, until you set it up again.

[Settings]​

  • Fixed an issue causing Settings to crash when accessing drive information under Settings > System > Storage. This also impacted accessing the drive information from the properties when you right clicked a drive in File Explorer.

Known issues​

[Start menu]​

  • Insiders with the new Start menu may experience it unexpectedly scrolling to the top.

[Power and Battery]​

  • We’re investigating reports that sleep and shutdown aren’t working correctly for some Insiders after the latest Canary builds.

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel​

  • The builds we release to the Canary Channel represent the latest platform changes early in the development cycle and should not be seen as matched to any specific release of Windows and features and experiences included in these builds may never get released as we try out different concepts and get feedback. Features may change over time, be removed, or replaced and never get released beyond Windows Insiders. Some of these features and experiences could show up in future Windows releases when they’re ready.
  • Many features in the Canary Channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, starting with a subset of Insiders and ramping up over time as we monitor feedback to see how they land before pushing them out to everyone in this channel.
  • Some features may show up in the Dev and Beta Channels first before showing up in the Canary Channel.
  • Some features in active development we preview with Windows Insiders may not be fully localized and localization will happen over time as features are finalized. As you see issues with localization in your language, please report those issues to us via Feedback Hub.
  • To get off the Canary Channel, a clean install of Windows 11 will be required. As a reminder – Insiders can’t switch to a channel that is receiving builds with lower build numbers without doing a clean installation of Windows 11 due to technical setup requirements.
  • The desktop watermark shown at the lower right corner of the desktop is normal for these pre-release builds.

Updating my last Canary machine. This one did not have the long pause at 77% installing that I saw on the first 3.
I don't know what the difference is with the other 3. 🤷‍♂️
Perhaps something changed on the MS side?

Did someone have issues with the start and search button. The start button not reacting at all and i sometimes need to restart explorer.exe to run it fix it . but after some time the problem reapear

You have chosen to be on the Canary branch and as such it has its perks but lacks stability. (just like me)

yeah thats what i was doing, and i have 204 objects in mine and do not see any of those transparent icons. i don't see any AI anything, and the address bar does not say GodMode like in the screenshot. i've know this shortcut since Win7, but i have never seen it look like the screenshot submitted by the other user.

awesome stuff, thanks @Edwin

i feel very foolish, but this is not working for me. is there some thing else that needs to be setup for this to work? everything i find related to that GUID references an app called "StartAllBack" and/or "StartIsBack... seems to be either or.

If you want a New GodMode folder, create a new folder and name it:

Doesn't work for me either that new GodMode @Edwin.
The reg value is not present either {99e2b362-3e4e-4255-9b29-41a7f40777bb}, the old one is.
So of course it has no reference.
The old works OK.

Opening and closing task manager creates new instances of it bug and so affects the ram usage. So use the 'End Task to close it.

    With all this gaming rig I am not a gamer!
I upgraded my External SSD to 27975 then to 97975.984 w/ o any problems afaict.
Last night I also upgraded the old 27823 build to 27975.984 but on the laptop that I created the above clone from last March, it also installed w/o any problems afaict.

With latest Canary Build they fixed the red message asking to restart every time even after many reboots.
It now shows only the 1st time the switch is toggled On or Off and disappears after a restart as it should. 👍

To test Administrator Protection these 3 IDs are required to be enabled 45172197,51406324,57048231.

do you have StartisBack or StartAllBck installed? i only have one PC that i don't want to add this software to, but i can build a VM to test if this software is what provided the newer "god mode" items.
