Latest Adobe Application Releases are now available for Download

Got the new Photoshop release and Lightroom update earlier today. Haven't gotten a chance to what's new yet.

I watched MAX 2022 a couple of hours ago. The most rubbish MAX event I have seen yet (since seven years ago). The virtual event (no in-person) during COVID was rubbish, and I thought this year would be excellent because they've got their 6000 creators in front of them!

No new feature for any product! They just added "Intertwine" (auto-mask intersections) to Ai and a new Gradient Annotator (borrowed from Ai) to Ps (they call it Live Gradient). They brought one feature from Ps to Ai, and vice versa! Pr, Au and Lr have no new feature. They presented just AI and Sharing features in their products. The most interesting part was FIGMA (last 30 minutes). I hope they bring its features to XD or at least make an offline version of it for PC. I mean an offline version which has no need connecting to the Internet to open a "fig" file! I have multi-gig "fig" files but can't open them without the Internet!!!

Most of the feature updates are to Lightroom & Lightroom classic, Just my opinion, but may be due to the recent revamp of other Image editors mostly On1 PhotoRaw that has added a huge amount of new AI functionality recently

There are supposedly new AI features in Photoshop filters but not had time to check if anything is worth using for my specific needs Most of the work this update in Lightroom is portrait based so of no real use to my workflow - I hardly ever photograph people

I'm happy to carry on using lightroom as I have developed a personal workflow to edit what I need. Every image is assessed and basically processed in Lightroom, for many this is the only processing required, but I do process some images further using other programs, but am recently tending to use either Luminar Neo or PhotoRaw 2023 when I feel an image needs more processing than LR can manage ( although Lightroom is adding more functionality every release.)

There is a lot of duplicated functionality between Photoshop, Luminar Neo and PhotoRaw 2023, but I find that Photoshop has too many functions that I personally do not use .[ I do use Photoshop for special processing where I see an example of a process stack that gives a appealing result I can use and includes the how to and for text effects with old Plugins that are only available for PS ]

I think you mean Subject selection in Lr. By saying no new feature, I mean no new tool has been added (unlike previous versions). IMO since five years ago, Adobe manoeuvres just on Subject selection tools and AI and NF (Neural filters). They (NF) do their job, but how?! Most of the time, the result is rubbish and needs more human work! Not practical yet, they want to grab new younger users that are lazy to use old methods (to select a subject by channel or colourizing an old photo). Adobe just makes the first step a bit easy for them.

Luminar has done a great job. I used that for a week (not on my PC). That's awesome. In some areas, it's even beyond Photoshop. I think they are Photoshop ex-engineers that have made such a great app. Its AI feature is more powerful.

The Skylum development team who produce the Luminar range are based in Ukraine, and the core developers are still working there - not sure about the previous workings of the individuals but they have done great things given what they've had to suffer recently The company started as an exclusive Mac software house "Mac-Fun" until they branched out a few years ago

I heard there's a new AI feature to content Aware (Photoshop) which it makes removing objects a lot easier. Other than that, I've not looked into what else was new.

@barman58, I'm not into people photography, though now that I have grandchildren, well... (but they're the exception)

What a strange story! Their job is great for enhancing portraits (I am not a photographer, just doing that as a hobby cause I can't afford the gear).

That feature has been ancient! They are improving it. The exact name of that feature is "Content-Aware Fill". I did a quick example of its function (removing text from an image):





They have added two options to it: Cloud process or Local (PC) process.

Yeah, I know about the feature! I've used it. I just heard they recently improved upon it. Will have to look at the release notes to see what I thought I saw.

I think they have a variation of the same code used in Lightroom Classic, called the Content-Aware removal tool which does work well

I just use Lightroom to process and do base edits to my RAW files. After that I finalize with Photoshop. I feel more comfortable working in Photoshop when doing further edits. On the flipside I never process my RAW files in Photoshop. That's me.

Yes. I have already read it. That's Content-Aware removal but an enhanced version of it! Adobe's AI is getting more IQ numbers after any update ..

The most important thing that Ps users are waiting for, is those micro triangle-square value indicators! I hope they bring Ps (on the iPad) indicators to the Desktop version. The CR workspace has been improved a lot, like Pr 2022 latest update Open/Edit/Export, they made it from scratch . The new CR workspace is far better than the old one.

A new feature has been added. Finally, Adobe (somehow) updated filters! I like this one:

Adobe Illustrator is breathing yet!

Photoshop's new feature:
- Generative Fill/Expand is out of beta!

Illustrator's new features:
1. Text to Vector: Text-based vector design!
2. Retype: Find the font name which is used in the artwork, even outlined fonts. I like this one, at least very useful for me. It works like Photoshop's "Match Font" feature (they bring it into Ai).
3. Ai on the web (beta)!

Premiere's new feature:
- Enhance Speech: wind/background noise remover (I love it).

Lightroom Mobile (also Desktop) has got some cool new features, which I'll be trying out on my mobile.

Adobe Photoshop Web and Adobe Express are available for Chrome OS on Chromebooks!
