Hey, Grom0X,

I have no idea how to tell whether this driver package would apply to my new (okay, three-year old) PC. So far as I can tell, I'm having no problems with my Ethernet. Can you tell me how to make a decision as to whether to download and TRY this package?

Thanks, friend. I wasn't aware of that. I just used a Paint brush to cover the addresses (even though I don't worry about that sort of thing as much as I probably ought to).

What should I have done to mask them completely?

I think the eraser in paint would have worked better.

Hi folks
With drivers etc -- I'd always go a bit cautiously -- some people always install the latest as soon as it appears whether or not it fixes a problem - and often encounter another problem.

In general I'd go on the Engineers maxim "If it ain't broke -- don't fix it". Firmware is another issue of course and if you need or have the newer 10Gbps or faster Internet connections (some places are looking at speeds of as fast as 1 Tbps) then you probably will need a new driver, or even a new NIC apart from higher quality LAN cable and possibly an updated router / cable box. For speeds of up to 1Gbps the standard drivers will continue to work without issue if they've been working already on your system.
