Did Microsoft definitely abandon Mica and fluent effects in Edge? Edge 141 still does not have it; Canary versions also do not have it...

Without them, user interface looks quite pathetic.

With the latest Canary build it seems to be fine for the default theme (I have the accent color chosen in Windows) but the buttons to close, maximize and minimize are black instead of white, MS needs to fix this

Damn, that error is being repeated over and over again.

My Canary version is Version 143.0.3619.0, just updated, and it still does not have Fluent effect, although both flags and settings are enabled, as well as accent color and transparency in Windows.

There has been an issue going on for about a month now where the longer you have the browser open the slower it becomes to minimize and maximize the window

    Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, no SSE4.2, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.

I found an old workaround while Googling, but unfortunately it doesn't work for Microsoft Edge 141. The workaround was to explicitly set "Light mode" instead of "System Default" in Theme and restart to restore the original blue (or other user accent color). However, as I said, this didn't work. The default light theme is the annoying gray instead of my nice blue accent color. Let's hope version 144 will fix that bug.
