Linux to windows OK - Windows RDC anywhere seems broken !!!!

Hi folks
I can connect simply to Windows form most Linux distros (am using KDE Fedora pre-rel f46) with a free German App Thincast Remote desktop client -- connects perfectly to Windows system.They seem to have got the thing working for Wayland too rather than X11 which was the normal way to RDP to Windows from Linux systems. I'm talking about desktop connection not just command line via ssh etc.

I can't make connections from a Windows host (W11for workstations pro) to any system whether Windows or Linux -- seems Windows RDC is broken !!! at least on my Windows system. Note I'm using also latest version (in fact pre-beta) of Wayland so the Germans have got it sorted in the Free thincast Remote desktop clien.

Any Windows users on latest experimental 26H2 build using PRO / Enterprise or Workstations got RDP to work at least for Windows to Windows

RDP was broken by the September 2026 update, and supposedly fixed by the OOB update.

However, the OOB update caused new issues for a lot of users, so there's that...

I've just done another Linux server update to the KDE GUI workstation interface it's running -- the bog standard built in KRDC application (RDC or VNC to remote systems) (no need for 3rd party app any more) runs RDP to Windows perfectly and in full screen + sound + to external 52inch 4K UHD monitor !!. So Linux to Windows works OK but Windows to Windows ??????? still NOK. For Windows connection use RDP rather than VNC - if you use VNC it's convoluted and you need some type of X-Server (the Linux GUI windowing service) on Windows which is a pain to set up.
