Yeah... for playback of video content at least, my Sony Bravia XR-55X90J (2021) still handles upscaling 1080p to 4k a bit better than even the latest Nvidia desktop GPU hardware with Studio drivers.

My very old Sony Bravia 19" TV looks perfect at 1440x900 native resolution at 100% scaling. Lower resolutions look better with GPU scaling than letting the monitor do the scaling.

That's just because your old Sony Bravia doesn't have the Cognitive Processor XR and XR 4K Upscaling.
