Have to see what exactly is automatic sky replacement does.

It's pretty simple if you have an image with a dull or blown out sky it allows you to replace it automatically and under control with a more dramatic or otherwise different sky, all the masking is done for you and has controls to allow you to blend it into the original, including relighting the scene as a whole to match the sky

It's now an option in several other packages such as Photoshop but skylum were the first to add it on this package, and it's still about the best technology - they also include other AI for lighting, sunbursts, and portraiture

I have an existing multi use key that I paid for. I've used it on several systems mine is valid for two concurrent systems but can be reset to move the licence to other systems. Of course the licence is tied to the Email Address used

They are bringing out any day their new Nero hence the free old version. You can replace sky add sun and sunsrays, and objects in the sky like birds, balloon, any png file with clear backgrounds I use it an their AI version all the time

I was offered a preorder of the new NEO application a few months ago at a stupid price so should get one of the first available, it's due end of Jan but has been delayed twice already

Install size approx. 1.5GB
Scanned completely clean, locally and at Virustotal.

It's a cool tool for quickie photo editing. Pretty simple.
Not super powerful. Sliders do what they claim... just not quite long enough.
The stock edits at bottom of the main window are pretty handy.

From the video on their site... it looks like NEO is the one to get.

For manhandling LOTS of photos, with relatively generic edits... it's a pretty cool program.
Learning curve is NOT steep. You can be a pro with this in a few hours max.

Great program for minor edits on say... an SD card full of holiday pics.
Can make seriously bad pics look good in... approx. 30 seconds.
Can easily... make grandma look 20 years younger, for example.

Revo (free) (with the scans), removes all of it, and there is a LOT of it to remove.


Overall:

The followup to this Luminar AI is more advanced as a speed editor, but is missing one function that is essential for serious editing, layers. This version has layers which allow better edits, but does need time to get the most out of it.

The latest, Luminar NEO, moves everything forward in the technology but also brings back layers so should appeal to both the user looking for quick batch edits, and the pro looking for selective editing.
This version, due to its layer support is a lot more powerful than it initially looks.

The only thing that worries me with Skylum is their design policy, they do tend to bring out new applications every year or so, rather than update the original, and this can lead to incompatibility between versions.

Of course at this price and as a one off option this is a good deal, especially for the occasional user, although with a little time the package can produce great pro results as well as quick automatic edits
