Macrium Free thinks my W11 PRO is a SERVER !!!!!????

I think it's time perhaps to move away from Macrium - good though it is

After last update to W11 pro Canary - Why does Macrium think it's running on a SERVER and won't install.



Is this a Windows or W11 problem.

Anyway I've cloned the disk via Gparted now - - I wanted to move W11 to another disk.

Possibly because you're running a preview build?

Maybe because your OS is an evaluation copy that expires on 15th September 2023. Just guessing.

Well, whatever check Macrium is doing isn't getting back the response that it expects. My guess is they look for a handful of responses and if one comes back it's considered a home based OS, and anything else is considered server.

I would expect ongoing supported versions of Macrium (the paid versions) will be updated to catch this different response and work appropriately.
Or it's possible in the Canary release, that Microsoft isn't responding correctly to the query and actually sending Macrium a response that it's a server based version.
