The primary partition is showing [RED] in Macrium. This is an indication of limited space remaining, but how would you correct this. Notice WinRE is 442MB, can this be edited??part1.pngZ-drive.JPG

You can increase the size of the Recovery partition a bit. Mine is at 507 MB with 422 MB data on the partition.
It doesn't show RED in Macrium Reflect.
I haven't adjust my Recovery partition size. That's just how it was created, I guess.
A program like EaseUS Partition Master or MiniTools Partition Wizard (both free), can easily resize that partition.

I didn't have to resize the Recovery partition. It was just created at 507 MB by the upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11.
However, I would just take it from... the Windows partition, if it's touching the Recovery partition.
I can't tell your disk layout from your pic.

If they are touching (adjacent), just shrink the Windows 11 partition by 10 MB. Then resize the Recovery partition to use that extra 10 MB.

Or post a MiniTools Partition Wizard screenshot.

I also note that this Recovery partition is the first partition on your disk. That was typical of a clean install of older versions of Windows 10. Is this a W10 machine that has been upgraded to W11?

Starting with (as I recall) 2004 the Recovery partition was moved and is now placed immediately after the C: partition. This allows future upgrades to shrink C: and expand the Recovery partition as required. Prior to this, with WinRE as the first partition expansion was impossible, so a second larger one would be created.

It's a pity your screenshot didn't show the whole of the disk. If it had I suspect it would show at least one more (almost certainly larger) Recovery partition. If so, then your partition 1 WinRE is probably not the active recovery partition any more and can safely be ignored. You can find out which WinRE is active with the command reagentc /info run in a Command prompt (Admin).

The above is from a W10 machine that has had an upgrade to W11. It has two recovery partitions, the active W11 one is partition 5 and has a WinRE.wim much larger than yours at 543MB.

The left over W10 recovery partition (no longer in use) has a WinRE.wim of 485MB, closer in size to that in your screenshot. That's why I suspect your 'apparently full' recovery partition is a redundant W10 recovery partition that is no longer in use, and that you have another active one elsewhere.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Mea culpa ! Here is the full view. Yes W10 to W11. MiniTool will let me move/resize Part 4 [Data], but there are no options on the other 3 partitions

I see the same thing when I run Macium Reflect. My NTFS partition is right after the C: partition and Disk Management will not allow me to resize it. I shrank the C: partition by 10 MB and when I click on the primary partition I do not get any options. In Minitool Partition Wizard it will only allow me to take 10 MBs from the Windows Re partition that is on the right of the NTFS partition. I only tried it to see if I could resize it.
