Macrium X image failed - licence problem

My daily Incremental system image failed this morning, upon loading Macrium I got the 'licence is not linked to this computer' message and had to re-activate

NO hardware or software changes since yesterday, it's been doing the daily backups for weeks, as well as my file backups.

I've seen quite a few licensing issues reported on the Macrium Software forum.

Here is one of the threads with a reply from a Macrium Representative.

Had the same issue. Just went online to macrium account and fixed it.

Raise a ticket with Macrium Support - after app one of VX pluses is you have permanent support whilst lease is valid.

Ok posting here for info but it is unlikely anybody can solve your issue.

I have to laugh at all the patronisingly irrelevant posts - use V8 etc. People are just posting such stuff as they refuse to lease it.
Comments like "it is happening a lot" are unsubstantiated rubbish. A couple of posts or so on the Macrium forum DOES NOT consitute a lot.

Any thanks for posting so we who have VX can monitor our versions.

I certainly have not seen the issue, and I suspect most VX users have not either.

Should have been based on motherboard instead of MAC address since a lot of motherboards now come with both Ethernet and wifi.

I've been having the same problem after motherboard and processor upgrade. Two days ago, or right after this last update it happened again. so I chose the option transfer to this computer then it would load again. I removed license key and uninstalled Macrium before, the hardware upgrade too!

I contacted Macrium support, they've given me the fix shown in Post #2 of this thread (obviously using my MAC address).

Occasionally I will use a vpn. I noticed the license issue was happening after I used the vpn. I also submitted a ticket then and was also referred to the same solution and implemented it. The solution did not work on my system. I was still on 23H2 at the time. Ironically, I had my system SSD fail a couple of weeks ago and went ahead and installed 24H2. I can say the licensing issue has not re-occurred. Don't know why yet. Still rebuilding my software so I have not researched any further.

It did not work while I was still using 23H2.
I have not had to try the workaround on 24H2. Yet. As surprised you folks. I honestly forgot about it until I saw this post yesterday.
I am still using SATA SSDs.
