- New: Added 'Skip loopback and multicast' checkbox in Connections Log which will
filter out these kinds of connections from the results list.
- Fixed: Remote address/port are switched with the Local address/port in Connections

- Fixed: When switching to High Filtering profile, you have to manually refresh
Rules Panel to see the special rules created for this profile.

What's new in version 6.13.0.0 (31.03.2025)

- Improved: Allow to modify a rule even if the path does not exist. It is now possible
to edit a rule flagged as invalid.
- Fixed: Check for updates may report that you have the latest version even if an
update is available.
- Fixed: Standard user accounts can add notification exceptions even if the software
is in restricted mode.
- Fixed: If restricted mode is enabled, it is not possible to scroll through the
Authorized groups list.
- Fixed: Sometimes, modifying a rule appears to be successful but if you manually
refresh the rules list, it wasn't. This is done now automatically so that refreshing
the rules list is not required anymore.
- Fixed: Memory leak in notifications system when a new connection is processed.
- Fixed: Memory leak in Secure Rules logic when a new rule is added.
- Fixed: Memory leak when loading Connections Log entries.

- Fixed: Secure Profile is sometimes out of sync; it appears as disabled while it is actually enabled. Secure Profile reinforcement was rewritten to use events instead of a timer.
- Fixed: The service does a lot of processing when the Medium Filtering profile is enabled but the notifications are disabled.
- Fixed: When using Learning Mode, if you manually delete a newly created rule, Learning Mode will not work anymore for the same app unless you restart WFC.
- Fixed: Rules from specific authorized groups lists are not preserved by Secure Rules if the group name contains the apostrophe character.
- Fixed: While Secure Rules disables an unauthorized rule added from outside WFC, it does not disable the rule if it was enabled from outside WFC.
- Fixed: Importing rules may not properly complete if Secure Rules is enabled.

sad, Malware bytes was my go to along with adaware to fix messed up computers... then al that seems to have gone away or go to paid... I never left them enabled, only when I needed them... those 2 together were the best! Then Greed made them make them pay for what we enjoyed free.. yes trial versions are around of some of these, but they suck..

Two different products. That's Malwarebytes, this is a free product.

Any trial edition of a Malwarebytes product is identical to the Premium version except for its free time limitation. Thereafter, the product may be run manually (as in a free edition) to search for and quarantine malware. The main operating difference has always been Premium's scheduling feature.

This topic concerns Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control, which continues to be supported and has been free since its May 2018 acquisition.

Perhaps you are somehow equating the “Adaware” product with Malwarebytes AdwCleaner which is still supported and has always been free.

Please let us know if you need any other factual information.

no, they were different products, I used them together when I wanted or needed to remove problem files... but over time I don't know when malwarebytes changed the free good stuff to different plans.. been along time, so it's me that lost track of time..

You may still enjoy the continuous protections of Malwarebytes 5 for Windows (MB5) Premium and run Malwarebytes AdwCleaner (free) as an occasional scheduled/batch job or run it on demand.

Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control (WFC) (free) is an adjunct to MS Windows.

Malwarebytes Browser Guard (MBG) (also free) is strongly advised for all browsers.

Perhaps you remember Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware (MBAR) or Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (MBAE). Both have been integrated into Malwarebytes for Windows as whole modules.

Can you please tell me exactly what you believe is missing here from what you remember?

I believe he is referring to the fact, that Malwarebytes is Pay to use and Free to clean, but it is not so obvious. After 14 days it starts to nag about buying the licence, but cleanup should be still free, unless they changed the licence terms. :think:

Malwarebytes is a business, nobody forces you to use their software, you are free to write your own and of course release it for free.
