  • Resolved an issue where preferences deployed with the Office Deployment Tool were not being set correctly.

Office Suite​

  • We fixed an issue where the application displayed empty or incorrect contents during scrolling or switching sheets in right-to-left (RTL) Excel.
  • Resolved a performance issue in PowerPoint when typing with autocorrect.

I have been updating manually using this in an admin command prompt:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.yyyyy.xxxxx

where yyyyy.xxxxx is the desired version

That is how I got to the beta and other versions since I could find any version, release, current or beta channels as they all have the issue for me.

Good ! We should see this , if all went fine ........
However , a lot of people ( and me) are getting the error , when searching for updates !
Tried several options , complete repair , it updates also, still no fix ............
Completely uninstall/install is no option , but must be done , if........next update wont fix this error !

With the command line update, you don't get the error.

Find the version you want (this forum), then In a command window with administrator privilege, run the following command:

Batch: 
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=<ver>

where <ver> is the version you want. For example

Batch: 
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17830.20056
