I did a repair install and got the latest version. Now I can check for updates without error.

I had the same issue, had to unistall. Downloaded the install image, reinstalled, joined the beta program again, updated, and now it seems to be working. Will only be able to know 100% once the next update arrives. Odd never had these errors before.

None of the Repair options work, which is a joke.

This is very messy by MS to let an issue like this sneak through like it has. Looks like I'll have to do on my laptop what I did to my desktop PC which is uninstall and completely reinstall the Microsoft 365 Apps.

Same here. Uninstall, re-install, re-join Beta. Now fully up-to-date.
Not as bad as doing a Windows repair but shouldn't be necessary at all

I uninstalled MS 365 Apps for Business using Revo Uninstaller, let it do a major cleanout of everything MS 365 related. Reinstalled, it is back in the beta channel and update works fine.

Let my explain how I did the repair install. I have office 365. I downloaded OfficeSetup.exe from the portal, I run it and I got installed the latest beta version.

I did the same thing just now and it worked. Fixed my problem with updating to the latest Beta release.
