I wonder if that might mean VBOX on Windows will become subscription - everything else seems to be moving in that way.

I've got a feeling there's more in this than meets the eye -- Oracle's own DB system is being trounced by SAP/HANA , Ms's SQL service and the free / open source MariaDB and AB/Mysql SQL type of DB's.

Ms is particularly good in robotics, Azure cloud service and A.I plus it's office suite is still the nr 1 preferred office suite - so other than Ms absorbing large chunks of Oracle I'm not sure what Oracle is going to get out of this -- plus Ms has a load of dosh in the bank --might be good time for an acquisition or two.

SAP is also cobbling up former Oracle corporate customers especially via CLOUD services and its SAP/HANA system for SME's - and area where Oracle was strong while SAP had the bigger enterprises. Business/1 etc from SAP designed for much smaller businesses changed a lot of that.

AZURE and Oracle are well known but here's some info from SAP if you've never heard of it although I'd imagine there's hardly a process on the planet that doesn't make use of some SAP software somewhere (and it's a huge bread winner for loads of I.T freelancers).

If you get too close to a hungry predator expect to get eaten.

cheers
