Hi all,

Lately when I start Microsoft Edge, I will get the above mentioned message every time.

Unfortunately I don't have a precise timeline for when this issue started, other than within the last couple of days.
I tried to repair Microsoft Edge to fix it, but it didn't stick.

The browser is behaving as though it has crashed, when I know it hasn't.

Has anybody else noticed this and is there anything more I can do about it?

Other than that, my system is running well, so I don't want to tamper too much.

Best wishes,

Casey

When this happens, what options are offered..., Restore, Dismiss... ?
What are the consequences, if any, when clicking on any of the options offered?

Thank you.

I can restore the previous session or close the prompt.

I choose to close the prompt and go on with my browsing, but I am curious as to why this happens every time as of late.

A few things to try:
• Disable Start-up Boost
• Disable Background Sync or Run in Background
• Disable Edge as a Start-up item in Task Manager

Thanks @Edwin

Stopping it from running in the background seems to have sorted the problem.

When I went into my Settings, I had two entries for MS Edge.

I could only change one, but when I clicked on the three dots, I could 'Manage background usage', and then select Never when asked whether to allow it to run in the background.

Appreciate the help.

I'll be back next time I have to fix something.
