Didn't for me. I had to use the reg trick. Maybe there was still some leftovers from the previous version.

Nope. It didn't restart so I deleted the reg entry (Only one in my case} and it starts just fine now.

Deleted the two reg-keys anyway , after the latest Edge installed .
They dont have any use at all..........

It updated and restarted OK for me this time, but then I didn't have the issue last time either.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. Edge wouldn't open on this PC. Firefox was fine. Tried a Repair--same result. Found this posting on the Forum. Deleted the Registry Key ---only one. Now working o.k. 105.0.1343.27. Going to power up and check my other desktop and laptop now.

Edit. Both the desktop and laptop failed after they updated to 105.0.1343.25. Removed the Registry Key --1 in both cases--and now o.k.

Interesting as I don't have the key and no issue. I also don't have Chrome installed. Found this but don't know if it's to do with the issue,

I think they just meant... do a search for that key and remove a few of them. :-)

I solved the problem another way. I just removed EDGE, a long time ago.

There is a serious Problem with Edge Version: 105.0.1343.27. It self-installs not as a part of Windows Update, but independently. After that it is not possible anymore to start Edge. This happened to my first PC on September 1st. I tried all recommended repair options, including an Inplace Upgrade. It did not help. I had an hours long Chat with Microsoft Support. They logged into my computer and tried all kind of things . The only option that worked finally was creating a new admin account, from which opening Edge was possible. MS Support diagnosed a corrupted account profile.
As I cannot imagine reinstalling all my approx 400 apps with all personalizations on a new account I decided to give up and switch to Firefox.
Today, September 4th my second PC, a totally different configuration, but also Windows 11 and Edge, started with exactly the same behavior.

It is clear that it is not a profile problem, but a bug in Windows 11 / Edge

MS Development should look into it urgently

PS: Brave has been my default browser for several years now. I have no plans to change anything.
