Yes, apart from intergrading the drivers and apps in the ISO, the OEM can also enter Audit Mode (bypass OOBE and connect with the built-in Administrator account) pressing CTRL+SHIFT+F3 and install anything they want. At next restart Windows show OOBE again, but any drivers and apps are already installed.

I'm not a Rufus user myself; I like to do things myself and bonus if I can torture myself with it not working at first. But Rufus couldn't be simpler... ISO, check box or two, click button. I mean, I'm a custom ISO and unattend guy, but Rufus is a nice piece of kit, I think they say over there.

I fully agree. With the work I do, I couldn't function without my Microsoft 365 subscription. I fully appreciate that for some, the tools I find indispensable are useless. That's the beauty of Windows; there's always software and tools to fit whatever your needs and wants are.
The problem is, for many unsuspecting users, whether it's because of ignorance or naivety, the program screws with your data before you even realize it's there and what it's doing!
I'm not one of those naive or ignorant users., but after clean installation, I spent a long time trying to recover the folder of documents, photos, and videos that OneDrive automatically linked to the cloud without me realizing what had happened, even though it's a free plan.
