Insider Microsoft Store now supports directly updating Win32 apps in Windows 11

My question is how does one tell if the app is Win32 or Win64?

That's cool. This is basically them adding the winget command into the store as a way for users to do it in a GUI vs the command line.

In Powershell use this command:
Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product

You can use the same method below to see if a running process (app) is 32-bit or 64-bit in W11.

If I am right about the winget thing, you can use the command Everything listed there it can update should also be updateable by the store.

Win32 is just a generic term. The app may be 32bit or 64bit but either will work on 64bit Windows 11. There is no 32bit windows 11.

Yes, obviously there is no 32bit Windows 11 but what I meant was how does one know what apps installed are 32bit that Microsoft store actually updates.

I just tried that and it seems like it also lists 64 bit programs as well such as this below... since from the command, I thought it would only list Win32 (x86) and not x64:

That would only work if it was a process running, what I meant was in general that's installed on the system as wouldn't being installed in C:\Program Files (x86) mean it's non-64 bit while C:\Program Files would mean it's 64 bit but ofcourse I think some apps install elsewhere on the system under the User Folder which seems harder to tell.

Am I correct that if the Available Source column is blank and does not say winget, it means it's not updatable by winget and may or may not be updateable bt the store. While on the winget subject, Is there a way to force winget to update to pre-released version of a product such as the pre-release version of Windows Subsystem for Linux that just came out as I know store only seems to update the released versions.
