Microsoft plans to fix Windows 11's slow context menus with major overhaul designed to improve performance and reliability!

A new compact context menu design is in the works that will make opening and interacting with the right-click menu faster in File Explorer and on the desktop. Additionally, Microsoft is working on allowing users to customize this new menu with actions and options of their choosing.

The new context menus will be user configurable, letting users enable and disable different apps and actions from appearing with them, as well as changing the order in which items appear.

This is all part of Microsoft's Windows K2 effort designed to improve performance, reliability, consistency, and customization options for users. Very exciting indeed!

I use Nile Shell or even yet.. a more updated ones fork from Nile shell which is iMA Menu ,Fast, Easy, Simple, and Open sourced.

Never really cared what Microsoft doing... always a disappointment regarding context menu. Lets hope MS next changes they are willing to do might change my mind... hopefully.

Most of the layoffs were not in the divisions where the money is being made. It amounts to about 2% of their workforce, which isn't that much, and it's largely in a division that's not making any money. That's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.
