Hello.

The following is on Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.8246).

I have an addon NVidia RTX card and never paid much attention to the Intel one running on the system's processors.
Lately, because of the delays in Intel updated drivers, I paid attention.

According to the computer's manual, the graphics are Intel® Xe Graphics Architecture (Gen 12).
CPU: Supports 14th, 13th & 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors (LGA1700)

The drivers I have installed since I got this computer are (from last to first):

Intel® 11th – 14th Gen Processor Graphics - Windows

Version: 32.0.101.7084 Release date: January 23, 2026 (current driver)
Version: 32.0.101.7080 Release date: November 7, 2025
Version: 32.0.101.7076 Release date: September 19, 2025

Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows

Version: 32.0.101.7026 Release date: August 22, 2025
Version: 32.0.101.6913 Release date: June 27, 2025
...
some successful and some failed installations
...
Version: 32.0.101.6734 Release date: April 8, 2025 (1st driver installed)

----------

Now:

I can't install any Arc & Iris drivers (incompatible even if the system passed the compatibility test).

Trying the 32.0.101.7085 (non-WHQL), it refuses to install.
It fails at Pre-Install -- No driver was found that can be installed (exit code 8).

Retrying to install the currently installed driver, I get the same error (exit code 8).
Similarly for the last Arc & Iris driver I had installed (32.0.101.7026). Exit code 8.

It seems that it doesn't find what it wants in the oem??.inf files.
I'm attaching the log from today's try in case it's useful to someone.

Besides the upgrade, does anybody know why the computer stopped updating with the Arc & Iris versions?
Some BIOS change on my part, or Intel's decision that eliminated my processor maybe?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thank you much Try3.
I have disabled driver updates for a long time now.

Luckily, I believe I fixed the problem and clarified my understanding of Intel's naming convention.

A Googled suggestion to handle exit code 8, was to check the BIOS and 'enable GPU multi monitor'.

I checked and it was disabled. I probably had done it to avoid pressing the HDMI<->DP switch on the monitor (multiport single monitor).
A problem during startup (no screen output), so I went back to the BIOS and changed the primary graphics from auto to PCIE1 (the NVidia).

Back into Windows, I tried to install the Arc & Iris drivers I had downloaded and got the exit code 8 for my troubles.

I tried the current driver again and it went through so I stopped it and tried the 32.0.101.7085.
This also went through.

Looking at devices now, the Intel shows as a UHD 730.
The Intel graphics software that opened up after the installation, claims that I'm up to date with the Intel® Arc™ Graphics Driver 32.0.101.7085

There's the "Arc" naming again on a driver that I believed it was in the Intel® 11th – 14th Gen Processor Graphics category.
Intel is a bit loose with their naming eh?

Go figure but as long as it works I'm not complaining...

Cheers.
