This tutorial will show you how to move an off-screen window back on-screen to the desktop in Windows 11.
Sometimes you may have accidentally moved a window off-screen, or left a window opened on another connected display and disconnected it without remembering to move the open window back to your primary display.

1 Press and hold the Shift key.
2 Right click on the off-screen window's taskbar icon. (see screenshot below)
3 Release the Shift key.
4 Click/tap on Move.
5 Your pointer will now turn into the Move pointer.
6 Perform an action below to move the off-screen window back on-screen where you want:
- Press the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow keys to move the off-screen window to where you want, and press Enter to drop the window.
- Press any arrow key, use your mouse or touchpad to move the off-screen window to where you want, and click/tap on the left button (primary) on the mouse or touchpad to drop the window.
1 Hover the pointer on the off-screen window's taskbar icon to see its thumbnail preview. (see screenshot below)
2 Right click on the taskbar thumbnail preview of the off-screen window.
3 Click/tap on Move.
4 Your pointer will now turn into the Move pointer.
5 Perform an action below to move the off-screen window back on-screen where you want:
- Press the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow keys to move the off-screen window to where you want, and press Enter to drop the window.
- Press any arrow key, use your mouse or touchpad to move the off-screen window to where you want, and click/tap on the left button (primary) on the mouse or touchpad to drop the window.
1 Press the Ctrl+Alt+Tab keys.
2 Select the off-screen window in Ctrl+Alt+Tab, and press Enter. (see screenshot below)
3 Press the Alt + Space + M keys to turn the pointer of the off-screen window into the Move pointer.
4 Perform an action below to move the off-screen window back on-screen where you want:
- Press the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow keys to move the off-screen window to where you want, and press Enter to drop the window.
- Press any arrow key, use your mouse or touchpad to move the off-screen window to where you want, and click/tap on the left button (primary) on the mouse or touchpad to drop the window.
