I was working on this thread but its closed so I am creating a new one.. I was on MBR.. new mobo and took C: drive (boot drive) to gpt. You guys had great instructions. I have tried a few different ideas posted in this thread After clean install, two Recovery Partitions

I have the program installed and I still cant get it to move. I had two recovery partitions and now I have one using diskpart. I had what I thought was perfect. I had my C: drive and after that was the efi drive and the 1.2 gb free space. I was trying to move the efi to the left so I would have the C:\ drive and then the open space so I could merge the two and pick up that room. I cant seem to get the right next to each other. Any Ideas?

Delete the F: partition, then move the EFI and recovery partitions to the right. One at a time.
That will leave 1.2GB of unallocated space, just to the right of the C: partition.

Then, resize the C: partition to include the 1.2GB of unallocated space.

Use Minitool Partition Wizard (free) to do these things.

Delete the F: partition, that will leave 1.2GB of unallocated space on the far right.
Then move the EFI and recovery partitions to the right. One at a time.
That will leave 1.2GB of unallocated space, just to the right of the C: partition.

Then, resize the C: partition to include the 1.2GB of unallocated space.

Note: When you go to "move" the EFI and then the Recovery partitions to the right, you'll see "handles" on the left and right side of the partition, you're trying to move.

After you delete the F: partition, you are gonna move the EFI partition to the far right.
Use the "handles" to do this.
Move the right handle all the way to the right.
Then move the left handle to the right till the EFI partition is 100MB again.

Rinse and repeat for the Recovery partition, only this time... move the right handle to where the left side of the EFI partition is located. Then move the left handle of the Recovery partition, until it is 669MB once again.

THEN you can resize the C: partition to include the 1.2GB unallocated space.

It sounds complicated, but it's really pretty simple. Just take your time.
When you move the EFI and move the Recovery partition, you may have to reboot, each time.

I don't remember if you can move the EFI partition, while in Windows.
Same for the Recovery partition.

I don't have these types of problems anymore. I redid everything the OCD way, over 5 years ago. :-)
I don't have or use the System Reserve partition, or the Recovery partition.

000000 Disk Management.webp

Also, I try to keep the "used space" on my C: partition under 40GB.
That way, backups and restores are very fast.

I install large programs or games on my storage drive(s) instead.

For example...

I assume you mean you deleted the F: partition?
You have to click "Apply" in the lower left corner for Minitool Partition Wizard to do what you asked of it.

I got it.. I used easeus over the years and it still would not work.. I found a little button that said something like do something with unallocated space to I clicked it. I wish I would have snapped a pic berceuse I dont see it anymore. Yeah.. I hit apply. :) It rebooted twice and its working. I have never had an issue before using disks.. The last time was when we all had to use a program called stacker. This was a whole new world back then if you were on windows. 2025-05-31 09_43_40-Stacker 3.1 __ for Windows & Dos 3.5 Disks - Retro Software - Rare _ eBay.webp

I fully agree with @gunrunnerjohn. There is always a risk when dealing with partitions by any method, but to do so when you really gain nothing from it just makes no sense to me. 1.2gb is negligible. If you haven't done so already I strongly suggest you make a disk image before messing with partitions.

I fully agree with @gunrunnerjohn. There is always a risk when dealing with partitions by any method, but to do so when you really gain nothing from it just makes no sense to me. 1.2gb is negligible. If you haven't done so already I strongly suggest you make a disk image before messing with partitions.
I do one before any type of bigger changes. Mactuim makes to so fast. 1.2 to me is a lot. I need all I can get. I have not even stated to get my other disks filled up and labeled.... I need new ssd drives.. Samsung has or will have a 8tb nvme coming.. I use two in raid 1.

You have 474G in the C: partition and 1.2G is a lot? That's about 0.25% more space! If you're truly that pressed for space, I doubt that is going to change anything, you obviously need larger drives in that case! You already stated you need larger drives, what's the hurry about claiming that tiny bit of space?

I need a lot more space... I still have two more drives that are not even hooked up. Once I get the other two and two new nvme I will have room.... Without getting into to much I need a ton of used pst files.. It's not so much the size it's being able to get 15 maybe 18 more together.
