MS Account requests ID confirmation frequently

These past few weeks, I get a pop up from my MS account to confirm my ID at least once a week. It was never close to this kind of frequency before. I enter my PIN and it immediately says OK.

Anyone else experiences this?
I wonder why this happens.

P.S. I did not make any changes to my HW/SW, BTW.

Is there a notice under settings, accounts that you need to verify your account? I seem to remember a similar issue on Win10, don't get it on Win11 because I think I made that settings change when I first set it up, having remembered doing it from Win10, so can't tell you exactly where to look.

Yes, it happens on Windows 10, and no, I don't see a notice under settings requesting (or providing an option) to change anything. What kind of setting is it? What shall I look out for the next time it happens?

If / when you are asked to sign in to your MS account again, check the 'Don't ask me again' box and you become permanently logged in.

In settings -> accounts -> your info, there's an option to "stop signing in to all Microsoft apps automatically". Wonder if this is the problem?

What verification method do you use? Try to add more, if you have just one.

I have noticed that if I change much of anything in a Microsoft app, such as Office, etc., it wants me to provide my ID. Add a new email addy and I have to plug in my ID. It's never ending.

I'm not too sure any of that would apply since it's from 2016. I read it, and it's really convoluted and I would hate to try what he said.

I looked at pretty much everything under Accounts and didn't find anything.

I'm not sure I want to be signed in permanently. I turn off my computers at night, so am not too sure about what might happen security wise.

Not only that, but what about family members inadvertently getting into my account?

You are only signed into your MS account permanently; you still have to sign in normally when you re-boot.

OK, but it takes my Microsoft Account to sign into Windows. Although I do need a password/PIN along with the account.

When I go to Microsoft, I am always signed in automatically, but I still get asked for my ID frequently as stated above.

It is really a very minor nuisance. But paranoid me is always watching out for symptoms of possible trouble. That does not seem to be the case, neither in yours nor mine

It is minor until it gets overbearing. Which seems to be happening more often of late.

What is your option in Settings, Accounts, Sign in Options----- use my sign in information to finish setting up after an update, set to?
Reason I ask is that I have a notification in settings to verify my account for syncing across devices (which I haven't done since I don't want that) but the above setting is switched to on, the only time I am asked to either verify my ID or use my PIN (other than start up login) is when I want to log into my Outlook account, online, through Edge or when I buy or rent from the MS Store.
The only other thing I can think of that might cause the issue you face is if your "use my location" option is turned off (think this used to mess up Mail and auto logins on Win10 for me).
