It's been a week now, everytime I try to go to tvseriesfinale.com I get 100% cpu usage in Edge and obviously have to close it in task manager.
ublock is disabled, even removed it. Everything is up to date. Edge 138.0.3351.55, Windows 26100.4349. Any ideas? I'm stumped. I'd think if others were having this
problem they'd be aware of it by now.

just tested the site tvseriesfinale.com and I too get very heavy CPU usage using latest stable edge. Same in 'Private mode'.

EDIT: Tested in latest Firefox Nightly - same result - very high usage on the CPU
EDIT: Tested with Chrome - same but not quite as severe - still runs at 20-25% CPU

yes yes and yes. Nothing helps. I finally managed to get in using private mode and quickly got off an email to them.

To check if that web page does cryptojacking, I suggest using some addon that verifies it. In Firefox there is the following addon:

I like the concept... but I don't like the idea of an app that wants access to all my site data across sites. Shouldn't it just need access to the site I'm visiting - assuming it's checking their code for miners as it claims?

The creators of the addon are trustworthy. I have this addon in Firefox for years. When cryptojacking sites emerged years ago, this addon detected many of them. Since then, it hasn't raised the alarm again until I saw your message.

I have accessed that site from Firefox and, indeed, there is a very high consumption of resources (20-30%). The addon does not detect anything suspicious, so it does not seem that the problem is cryptojacking.

Looking at the Firefox task manager, I confirm that the process that consumes so many resources is “Windows Median Foundation Media Engine CDM”. Another thing I noticed is that the resource consumption returns to normal when the banner on the right finishes loading, which is trying to open above “Cancelled TV Show Lists”.

I opened the Edge task manager and got this. The Service worker : chrome exension had peaked at 80% CPU.
