Looking at upgrading to one of these boards (possibly). I've studied the manuals and I'm a bit confused - in addition to the usual 24-pin ATX and 2x8-pin CPU power connectors, the boards have an additional two 6-pin PCI-e connectors - PCIE_PWR1 and PD_PWR1.

From what the manual tells me the PD_PWR1 is needed for 60W charging through the USB port. The boards also come with an NVMe PCI-e add-in card which requires the PCI-E power connector.

My question is - assuming I don't need the USB charging nor want to use the add-in card, will I need to connect these? The problem is that my 1000W ASUS PSU is already using the 3x8-pin PCI-E connectors for the GPU, I have no additional 6-pin available if the board needs it.

The manual isn't specific about the necessity of the PCIE_PWR1 connector, whether it's optional or not. My current X570 Aorus Xtreme board has one but I've never connected it.
If this connector is necessary I'll have to upgrade my PSU as well 😲🤔

If you are not using the features, my guess would be that hooking them up is not necessary. Perhaps someone here has one of those boards and can advise better than I can.

Yes I'm thinking that it would work with just the standard 2x8 CPU and ATX connectors. I can't imagine the PCI slots would need additional power or all the X670 boards would have them
