I just got news that my Microsoft MVP (Windows) award was renewed. Looks like that means it spans from July 2025 to June 2026. I can't say how delighted I am to get this news. I can, however, say I'm mystified as to why I had to get my app in before the end of 2024, and why it took 6 months plus a bit to get through the awards consideration pipeline. I'm guessing it probably has something to do with their ordinary backlog to which they had to add in all of us legacy Windows Insider MVPs from days of yore.

Glad to be in it for another year, in any case.

Cheers to all, and also to those who've gotten their MVPs renewed as well.

Thanks to all who posted. The switchover from the old WIMVP to the new MVP (Windows) is now complete. I had no idea that conventional MVPs are on a July 1 to June 30 "award year" calendar. Now I know. So, I'm good until this time next year. Cheers!

To @glasskuter: People can get MVPs in multiple categories. I've seen some people who qualify in 3 or 4, but that's the max. Shoot! That's pretty darned impressive. As far as I know, there are no other qualifications for "MVP royalty." Like the concept, though. I'm just a pawn, neither King nor Queen (nor Knight, Rook or Bishop, either)...
To @pseymour: Agreed on Mr. R, except that MS employees (he's been one since the 1990s) can't be MVPs. So yeah, he's qualified technically, but disqualified for other reasons.
