Is this now the normal or is something wrong with my system?

You can avoid a redirect by changing it in your settings. If you want a new tab to open at the same page, change it there as well. Here's how to do it in Edge. You will have to find it in whatever browser you use.

It opens a different url on my system everytime I click the Homepage button/house/

Post some samples of the URL. If it's just google.com followed by ?yadayadayda&etc ... then it's just adding some browser passed data to track you. Nothing unusual there.

Mine always comes up with plain Google, I use Firefox and Google as the home page.

If you click into or copy the actual URL you end up at, is it still that simple? A lot of browsers suppress the noise in the URL.

Nothing is being suppressed. The actual end URL is https://www.google.com/ I even turned off my ad blocker and still get the same result.

Hello Folks, as usual, I never seem to find out how I did what I did, this time I have. I signed out of my browser (Chrome) re entered www.google.com on signing in then saved my settings returning me to normal (possible only temporarily as I'm better at breaking instead of fixing.)
Thanks to everyone.

Odd... Google seems to be doing the "forward the URL with more data" option to everyone these days.

What browser are you using?
