Departure from Bangalore 01 Sep 2026 scheduled to depart at 04:30 but the Etihad Airways flight was delayed by over 5 hours. Arrival at Atlanta 16;30 hrs on 02 Sep 2026
Scheduled departure from Atlanta 21:20 hrs on 02 Nov 2026 and arrival at Bangalore 03:00 hrs on 04 Nov 2026

Since our departure by Etihad Airways was delayed by over 5 hours , at that point itself we knew that we will miss the connecting Etihad flight at Abhu Dhabi scheduled to depart at 09:00 on that day. On arrival at Abu Dhabi Etihad Airways put us in Aloft by Marriott hotel after obtaining the necessary UAE visa for all the US-bound passengers to get out of the Airport. We took the Abhu Dhabi to Atlanta flight the next day and arrived at Atlanta one day late. So the journey itself was an an adventure :-) .

OK, This is not our first vist to USA. Our first visit to USA was in Nov 1999 - May 2000 when my first grandson was born. Since then we (me and my wife) have travelled to USA four times and this will be our sixth and perhaps the last visit to USA.

There is no specific agenda - just a family gettogether. The only inland travel will be to Los Angeles sometime in October first week to visit my eldest brother who is 95 years old and undergoing dialysis thrice a week.

There's a famous steak restaurant in Aberdeen that specialises in Aberdeen Angus steaks (possibly only superceded by Wagyu steaks).

People come in and order hamburgers. To me that is a hanging offence for treason.

As an aside, I was in a steak restaurant in Thurso near John O' Groats and asked for a steak knife. The waiter said "If sir needs a steak knife, sir gets the steak free of charge" I did not need a steak knife lol.

A strict "NO NO" . We would rather prefer McDonalds McChicken. In India McDonalds do not have beef and pork in their menu. We order only McChicken and chicken and muttton based items :-).

The same applies to Aberdeen Angus steaks. No beef.
