Need help with RDP connection

Hello!

When I close the RDP connection and try to connect again, the connection fails. If I send a WOL packet then the remote computer is up and RDP connection becomes possible.

How to compel a remote computer wait for a connection?

Welcome to the forum Alex. I had exactly the same issue when I used 2 computers sitting side by side on my desk to test out how RDP worked. I figured out right quick that sleep was going to be a problem when I remoted in to another machine at the other end of the house or the one in my husband's workshop. I either had to turn off sleep or find a quick way to send a magic packet.

I assigned each computer a static ip address and downloaded a tiny app called WakeMeOnLan. Maybe it will work for your situation.
You don't have to assign static ip's. It just makes it faster since WakeMeOnLan won't have to scan the network each time since the ip's won't change.

Thank you very much, I also turned off sleep mode.

Sleep mode, plus making sure that the computer does not turn off the NICs that are being used are set to power off in Device Manager should be sufficient.

In device Manager, find your NIC, open Properties, select the Power Management tab, and make sure all the boxes there are unchecked.
