The Media Creation Tool is normally used to either download a Windows 11 ISO file or create a bootable flash drive with the Windows 11 setup. Most people create a flash drive and install Windows 11 from it.

Do you need to install Windows 11? If not you really don't need the flash drive drive now. As long you have access to another computer you can create the flash drive any time you need it.

I have Windows 11 on my laptop. Windows 11 became corrupted so I used the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable flash drive. I used it to reinstall Windows 11.

The Media Creation Tool also has an option to upgrade the computer to Windows 11. I used that to upgrade my Windows 10 desktop to Windows 11. In that case the Windows 11 setup was downloaded to the computer and was run from Windows 10. There was no need for a flash drive.
