Need windows 11 iso on version 26200, not 26100

Hey, I'm trying to repair install my windows 11 26200 25H2 but I cannot, all isos, from uupdump and windows insider (i'm in release preview channel) for 25H2 are indeed 26100 because it share the same undelying setup machine. I tried to spoof registry with 26100 but it didn't work. Setup tells me all the timne that the only way to get windows 11 is to keep nothing, not keep apps and files (what this is what I want). Any ideas?

I want to reinstall windows because all 3 cumulative updates hang at 98% (then roll back) and I found with the help of ChatGPT that the problem is deep in the component store, specifically mdodr package.

Thanks for the answer. Did all of these a lot of times. Every time "keep nothing" is the only option. And searching with AI found that the install engine of both 26200 and 26100 is 26100 based and windows thinks I'm downgrading from 26200

Are downloading a Windows ISO with the same base language as you have installed? For example, English (US) is not the same as English (GB or International). If you use the wrong language ISO, you won't be able to keep anything.

It does when you click on "Use recommended options", which will match your current language and Windows edition. But some people will uncheck the box.

I'm guilty in the past. I always thought by checking the box, one would end up with a universal iso that when run, rather than it checking the underlying license key that was stored in bios, it would ask the user what edition he wanted to install...Home or Pro, . (and a couple more choices) Then during install I had to choose English US language. It's been a long time since I used MCT, though.
The mind forgets quickly; in some cases almost immediately.

To have Setup ignore your BIOS product key, you will need to create an EI.cfg file on the USB drive.

MS will never create that file for you. Setup wants to "help" by matching your edition based on your BIOS product key or by detecting an already installed Windows image. When you're in OOBE, you're changing your user profile's language, but you cannot change the base install's language. That's hardcoded in the component files that get installed by Windows.

A light just came on. I remember that, now. I did that a number of times over the years.

Everything is correct. Language, version and higher build number. But unfortunately as I found out, up to now, all 26200 builds are based on 26100 setup engine and when I'm trying to in-place upgrade the system finds that I'm actually downgrading. This happens because 26200 is a disguised 26100 version. Only 26H1 gave me the option to keep apps and settings, but I'm afraid to install it.

If you install 26h1 from what others here have said, you will NOT be able to go to 26h2 this fall without doing a clean install.
I have not had to do an inplace upgrade for quite a while but I have not seen any reports herefrom folks saying they had issues doing it.
What indication do you get that makes you think it is seeing it as a downgrade?

In Panther logs, it says HostSystemisNewer and somewhere there it says that the host system is 26200 and the target system is 26100. All of these I have found with AI.

From your first post I understand that you basically want to do a Clean install
From the other posts I understand you want to do a Repair install, keeping apps and files.

What you want to do?

Did you do the basics?
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes
Restart

Back to Windows, open a CMD window as administrator and type:
sfc /scannow

If it finds any corrupted files, fixing or not, reboot and run again

Then run
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
and
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

you can use Windows update to perform a repair install whether that gives you the version you want is unknown.

This is a known bug introduced in Build(26200.8521);fixed in Build(26200.8728).
