Network issues after kb5044284 update

Hello all,

Im running into an issue after the latest windows update. After the reboot I noticed my wifi was gone from the Tile section, in its place is now the bluetooth icon. So far I have tried:

1) Uninstalling the patch
2) Restarted these services

• Network Connections
• Network Location Awareness (NLA)
• Application Layer Gateway Service
• Plug and Play
• Telephony
• Remote Access Connection Manager
• Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
• Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
• wlan autoconfig error 1068

3) Netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
4) ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
5) installed the latest driver for my laptop off the lenovo site
6) Ran the built in windows Network reset tool
7) SFC /scannow
8) Clean boot

Im all out of ideas, has anyone ran into this issue?

You might look in "Services" to make sure wlan is running automatically :

1. Press the Win + R keys to open Run.
2. Type "services. ...
3. Scroll down to locate the WLAN AutoConfig service and right-click on it.
4. Choose Properties from the context menu.
5. Now, click on the Stop button, wait for a couple of seconds and click Start.
6. Expand the dropdown for Startup type and choose Automatic.

There are a few problems with this update

I’ve concluded 24H2 breaks some peoples net connections. You’re probably this sixth person that has had problems.

But you haven’t mentioned what version of Windows you’re running.
Please type winver into search and post the results

And you haven’t mentioned your system specs.

Have you tried reinstalling or updating the WiFi drivers?

Just as a what if?

• Open Windows settings
• In the top left search bar start typing "Network Trouble"
• Click on "Find and fix network problems"
• Run the troubleshooter

There have apparently been endless reports about net connections with 24H2 and the answer to all of them so far is to go back to 23H2. So if you are on 24H2 and have a system backup image, use it.

Fixed my network issue follow what I did in my post

Hey everyone, thanks for the help. I was able to resolve this issue by rolling back the 24H2 update. Nothing else was able to fix this issue. Hopefully it will help anyone who runs into this issue.
