I have found that Network Paths (short version) are no longer working. I have a local path to my nas device and can no longer access it via the short path.
If I enter \\jvnas\ nothing happens at all. If I enter it with the full path \\jvnas.my.address\ it works fine. If I ping jvnas it returns the full path and pings fine.

Something has changed recently as this was working before and I still have shortcuts in file explorer with the short path. I have run out of ideas and need to get the short path working as I have a big LightRoom database attached to a short name.
Have tried in advanced options of the network adaptor to add the address to append but as it is finding it with ping then can't see it needs it.
Checked the sharing options and they look okay and as I said can access via the full name.

any ideas welcome.

Okay I am now thinking it is my Synology NAS having the issue. I can now access it via the short name and can see files but can't save any files. Times out with a network error. If I try and upload using the web interface in Synology it tries a bit and then throws an error saying login is incorrect.
For now I am moving my photos onto my TrueNas box which is working fine.

Okay found the issue. It was a routing issue with my PC on 192.168.100 network and the NAS on the 192.168.0 network. It has been this way for over a year now and pfSense has normally routed the networks fine as my firewall. Something has changed though. I changed the NAS to the 100 network and it is working perfectly now.
