Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help. I am running out of options.

I have a well established home network of six (core) machines. Three act as servers (windows & OMV), data, video and media. All the shares work correctly and all data is accessible on all machines bar one, My desktop.

The desktop is runing 22H2 Windows 11. The problem I have has appeared and worsened progressively over the last month and has now become critical. I have shares (shared folders) set up from three (machines). The Shares from two of the machines work as expected. The Shares from one machine \\WHS99 no longer longer work properly when accessed from my Desktop. Those shares work in all other machines and endpoints (Tvs, phones, IP Cameras etc.. On my desktop I do see the list of shares from that \\WHSS99 using either Host name or IP address in the file manager.

When each share is selected I get a list of folders and subfolders. However when I select the lowest level folder the files are not listed. Intermittently the smaller folders (less total files and size) the file list is complete and it is even possible to read/open a file. For the larger shares (30,000 files) the file maanger dialog times out. Of the folders that can be read, a file cannot be copied from my desktop to those folders directories.

These problem shares on my desktop, open perfectly on all the other PCs and Server and between them so I am convinced there is nothing wrong with the shares. I can remote in to the other machines and access the shared folders and files without issue and copy between them.

On my desktop the malwarebytes AV scan is clear and SFC Scannow is OK. The problem even persisted through a Safe Mode System Restore. I have double checked all my settings, registry entries and Network Settings as per the Checklist on this site and I am now at all loss. A Windows repair is coming up perhaps but I am always reluctant to do that.

Error messages are not helpful."\\WHS99 is not accesible. You might not have permisssion to use this network resource....The remote procedure call failed and did not execute" but at the same time however \\WHS01 is accessible as Shared Folders are listed. Also 4 of the 9 shares on that \\WHS99 are accessible with read function on my desktop. They are the smallest size folders. Of the folders that can be read, a file cannot be copied to those directories. The other 5 (large) folders (Music, Video, CCTV) just time out when selected.

In the event viewer the only errors error entries relate to "DistributedCOM" issues. I don't know if this is significant.

I suspect a file or cache corruption. I'd appreciate some advice please.

Thanks.

I uninstalled the Network Adapter (Mellanox Connectx-3 Pro) for a third time and rebooted the server, switch and PC and everything is magically working again.
