Solved Networking Sharing Issues Windows 11 Pro Major Problem sorta

Well on Wednesday August 12th i got bright idea to get my In Home Network Transfers off Everyone with Read/Write permissions, so what i did was wake up and ask Co-Pilot what was the best way to do that.

Well Thursday the permissions was so screwed up, i ended up restoring a Macrium Reflect Image, which thankfully booted fine with the usb stick lol, just had to disable Secure Boot briefly til i got Windows reupdated, as Co-Pilot was like just restore only the C Partition lol (i think that was wrong lol)

Anyhow network transfers partly working lol, everything else seems fine

Moral of this issue is don't listen to Co-Pilot and don't be a dummy like me, and it was probably secure enough in first place lol.

**Think i'll just wait for 26H2 to release and then do a clean install lol, and fix everything at once** probably best option, i can't think of anything else to try, unless someone has some ideas lol


Desktop doesn't see Gaming Laptop, Gaming Laptop doesn't see Desktop, but i can access desktop shares if i enter PC name manually lol

If i get skolded for using asking Co-Pilot, i deserve that

Using the Everyone group in, say, a corporate network is a pretty big no-no, but using it at home, assuming you trust everyone connected to your network, eh, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Yeah i shouldn't even followed Co-Pilots advice, and left it alone in first place lol.

I probably did the same on both systems doh

I know there is Repair Install option with Windows 11, but definitely not asking Co-Pilot how that works if i wanted to fix before 26H2 lol, but if i decide to just wait it out, i can as well, and then fix system fully once 26H2 fully out

I think if I were going to remove it, I’d back the permissions off slowly. Go from Full Control, to Modify, then Read, then remove. And do it one share at a time.

I went way too far, and then i realized afterwards i shouldn't done that lol

I've gotten those bright ideas more than once and gotten myself into trouble. Getting us out of it is what images are for.

I did Restore an Image yesterday for the first time, unless that image was after i did the bright idea, but i got some for end of July on the drive, so i'll grab one of those tomorrow. i know those are before i got the bright idea in my head, and stupidly asked Co-Pilot how to do it lol.

Then its matter of re updating Windows and a few drivers, (not a big deal there)

I got a few differentials and i'm sure a full one on that drive as well, i just have to browse the folder more


Edit: Ok do have a Full Image taken on 7/28, that should be before i got the bright idea lol

Update!!

Restored 7/28 Macrium Reflect X Image of C drive, then reinstalled AMD Chipset drivers the updated version, Display Driver uninstaller ran in safe mode and reinstalled then reinstalled AMD video driver in Normal mode., and updated Bluetooth and Wifi, then updated Windows, let it finish all restarts and then turned Secure boot back on

System performance excellent now--can see all network machines, file transfer is going great!
