New and Context Menu questions.

Would appreciate any comments from this forum if what I did was maybe not quite correct etc.

I love working with the Free app Jarte for yrs. It's free, fast, easy to install.

So when I installed Jarte on a new Laptop running Win11, I associated it with .rtf files in Settings but it still did not show with the New or Right click menus.

I checked and my registry did not have HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf\ShellNew
So I added ShellNew key and then gave it the new string value->NullFile

But there were a few existing additional keys in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf
This is how they were after I edited some parts of them.

In the->HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf
I edited it's Default to Jarte,
Name->Default Type->REG_SZ Data->Jarte.rtf <-edited this in
Name->PerceivedType Type->REG_SZ Data->document <-left this as it was

In the->HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf\OpenWithList
I left it's value as it was,
Name->Default Type->REG_SZ Data->(value not set)

In the->HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf\OpenWithList\Jarte.exe <-(edited to Jarte.exe)
I left it's value as it was,
Name->Default Type->REG_SZ Data-> <-(nothing, left clear)

In the->HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf\OpenWithProgIDs
I left the 1st value as,
Name->Default Type->REG_SZ Data->(value not set)
I edited the 2nd value as,
Name->Jarte.rtf Type->REG_SZ Data-> <-(nothing, left clear)

In the->HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.rtf\PersistentHandler
I left it alone totally, it had the below,
Name->Default Type->REG_SZ Data->{2e2294a9-50d7-4fe7-a09f-e6492e185884}

I then exited registry editor and had to reboot first to get the rtf restored to the New and Right click menus. But it does work now as far as I can tell.
