New Bluetooth headphones won't connect

I have bought a pair of new Bluetooth headphones Sony WHCH720N and they won't connect to my Windows 11 laptop, although they connected to my phone. My Bluetooth keyboard works fine, and also another pair of Bluetooth headphones.
What can I do? They are brand new...
(I have already tried many tips I found online, and nothing worked.)

Do they show up as available (recognised/available to be paired), but that you just can't connect? Or are they shown as paired/connected but you just can't hear through them?

What were the steps that you took to connect them?

When people mention this, I always wonder “what is it they have tried, am I to waste time suggesting the same thing?”

So if you go into Settings, Bluetooth & Devices, you can’t see the headphones listed?
Have you followed the pairing instructions properly?

If you can see them listed but they are not working, you probably have to set them as default device for sound

Yes, they show up as available to be paired (so they are "found"), but then when I try to connect it says it could not connect, try again...

When I click on "add a new device" it finds it, but it cannot connect.

Are they fully charged? Weak signal enough to be "found", but not enough to connect

Remove them and start manually (click meatball icon ... > Remove Device, and restart the whole process manually)

Yes, I charged them immediately.
I cannot remove them because when trying to pair they are found, but they don't connect and then they are not among my devices.
I tried to remove all Bluetooth drivers and restarted the laptop, and now my keyboard disappeared too and it won't pair or connect. The old Bluetooth headphones are there, and all other Bluetooth drivers were reinstalled apart from the keyboard...

One thing I remember about the keyboard... When I removed it in the past, I had to enter some digit to re-pair it, but now after I removed the drivers and that specific driver was not reinstalled, it does not ask to enter any digits and just says it cannot connect and it disappeared from my devices.
According to the headphones manual, it "might" be necessary to enter a pin when pairing. I wonder if this is the problem. I am not prompted to enter anything...
Oh, and I ran a DELL Bluetooth test and the result is PASSED, so it is a problem with Windows.

Reboot the PC for the keyboard, might help.

I only tried the phone to be sure the headphones were not faulty, I tried after trying the laptop several times, and now the phone is off.
I rebooted many times... :( I also tried diagnostics mode, but it would not connect to Bluetooth at all in diagnostics mode.

For what it’s worth, do the following:

  • Open search on your PC, type CMD.
  • Right click on CMD and “Open as admin”
  • Click on the following command so it copies to your clipboard and paste it into the CMD window:

DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

  • Press enter and be patient.
  • Reboot your PC when finished.

After reboot:

  • Open search on your PC, type CMD.
  • Right click on CMD and “Open as admin”
  • Click on the following command so it copies to your clipboard and paste it into the CMD window:

SFC /scannow

  • Press enter and be patient.

I had already tried that, and with sfc it said it had found corrupt files and had fixed them, but nothing changed after restarting...
