January 15 release

The following update is available for Surface Laptop for Business (7th Edition) running Windows 11, Version 23H2 or greater.

Improvements and fixes:
  • Security:
    • Improve your device protection. We’ve addressed potential security vulnerabilities that may allow denial of service, escalation of privilege, code execution, or information disclosure.
  • Reliability:
    • Ensure you have correct device information. We’ve fixed an issue with incorrect serial numbers and model names for the device.
    • Complete your tasks without interruption. We’ve fixed an issue where the touchpad stops working and the device needs to be restarted after resuming from sleep.
  • Performance and usability:
    • Meet your important deadlines. We’ve resolved an issue where the device is slow to respond or stops responding.
    • Simplify device management. System administrators now have the option to turn off the stop error triggered by a long power-button hold. They can set the value for PowerButtonBugcheck to 0 in the registry.
