New logitech [Logi] MXKeys S

Just had to update my desktop keyboard after my old Logi unit broke a key.

Have been setting up the new keyboard and Just came across a strange one, with my new Logi MXKeys, S it includes a set of proximity sensors that switch on the backlighting when your hands arrive at the keyboard, This is a great idea but has only been working intermittently, reading the user guide today I found a note that this function was switched on by default but switches off when you are charging the keyboard. Seems a little non intuitive for me as I tend to leave the keyboard on charge when working at my desk

Just a little note for anyone who switches to this type of keyboard

Otherwise the keyboard has been what I expect from modern Logi Units and now also includes a macro system to allow you to add your own functions, included functions include items to setup your browser when you switch on so not just basic options

I didn't realize that feature wasn't included with the MX Keys. The Logitech Craft has always had that feature, but I turn it off as it saves battery life since I don't always have it hooked up to the USB cord.

It does work without issue here, but as I said, it'll run through battery life as it's constantly going on and off as you move your hands nearby. I disable it in Options. If it's enabled and connected to the USB cable it'll stay on regardless of what your hands are doing.

Dru, Any of these "functions"have to be taken with a pinch of salt, some turn into essentials to one user whilst other users, never touch them I still tend to come down on the side of "It's better to turn off an option that you don't need/use than suffer from not having the option that you do need".

This of course, has to be at a price level that does not cost too much to the end user to have the option. In this version of the MX Keys, [The "S"] the new version with the option is cheaper that the older without

I hope you didn't think I was disagreeing or anything like that. I wasn't. I was simply comparing. And I wholeheartedly agree it's better to haven an option than no option at all.

I did find your post informative and was just comparing it to the Logitech Craft's function. And as I said, for me, I disable it. But when I need it, I use it... thus having the option
