How to Change Your Phone Number for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) at Microsoft
To change your phone number for two-factor authentication (2FA) at Microsoft, you'll need to first add a new phone number, and then remove the old one. You can do this through the My Account security settings.
If you normally use a phone to help you log in, and the number has changed, click on "Other ways to sign in".
Access Security Info:
Once signed in, navigate to the "Security info" section (often found in the left-hand menu or by clicking on your profile picture and selecting "View account").
Update Security Info:
Click on "Update info" or "Manage security info" to access your security settings.
Add a New Number:
Select "Add a new way to sign in or verify".
Choose "Text a code".
Enter your new phone number and select "Next".
Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your new phone number.
Remove the Old Phone Number:
Once your new phone number is verified, locate your old number in the list of security methods.
Select "Remove" or "Delete" next to the old number.
You may be asked to verify your account again to complete removal.
Note: If this is for something else, like GOOGLE, let us know!
