New Skype Insider build 8.136 released

Hey Skype Insiders,

things slowed down over the holidays, but the release pipeline is now active again. You should already have 8.136 which includes the following changes:

- Added RTT support to Skype calls (send text as it is being typed)
- A lot of bug fixes, code cleanup and improvements (audio player, location picker, call reactions, raised hand, image creator, headset handling, search and message sync improvements, call handling reliability improvements, privacy and security improvements and many more)

The update was out before they killed it as they released it then pulled it, then announced to insiders about the killing it and then the announcement went out 10 minutes later to the public. This update in the code actually has a line that say they are killing it. Teams does not even see the Skype contacts yet and no one has gotten the Teams Insider Community Invites yet after joining Teams Insiders.

And then someone else mentioned the new version out and mines got updated so I went to the preview site and it also downloads the new version. I guess maybe this is the last version.

I got the update too! Then Teams asked me to move the conversations from Skype to Teams. Also put my Skype profile picture to MSA account.

That didn't happen for me because Teams already moved the Skype conversations/history on March 5, 2025 on it's own. My MSA account already had Windows Live, Skype in it and asked me to choose the MSA or the Skype account when I used Teams on March 5, 2025 as I did join Teams Insider on the same day that the killing of Skype was announced as mentioned in the other thread that Skype is being killed.

Personal observations:
When a new message comes in on Skype, it is showing the Windows notifications for both teams and Skype at the same time instead of only on Teams since March 5, 2025. The other one appears that it will show the unread chats count in Skype instead of only in Teams since March 5, 2025. I am not 100% certain on the last one as I could be wrong.

How to get rid of the banner at the top of 8.138.x.x (credits to Skype Insider)

Modifications on how remove this banner completely

1. Just do Ctrl+Shift+Alt+D, and when clicking Alt in the top you'll see 'Debug'
2. Click on this button in DevTools

(until you restart Skype)

From Microsoft Skype Team Member:
"the last couple of releases mostly contain telemetry improvements, so we can better track the user migration to TFL
just posting for visibility"

I was told TFL = Teams for Life as SFL = Skype for Life, someone said it's Webview2 in the case of Teams

[There are 2 different versions of Skype - Skype for Business and Skype for Life
Skype for Business - S4B
Skype for Life (in other words - Skype for Consumer) - S4L
And in case of Teams there are also 2 different versions of Teams right now
Teams for Business and Teams for Life

So if Microsoft is shutting down Skype in early May, why are they still releasing new builds?
