So true - brain dumps are easy, focussed summaries are much harder.

What about "What's the best way to make a small fortune"?.
Answer -- Start off with a large one.

BTW some papers,magazines etc whether print or electronic pay their contributors by the number of words so concisement isn't always the highest priority.

I was wondering today if there was any AI that could count how many times a specific word was used in a video. There’d have to be for when auditing cash for brand mentions?

A round about way -- use an audio->text application then any ordinary word processor including Ms Word could give you word counts.

I'm sure in future AI could do it - but until these things are available you often have to use indirect methods to derive solutions. Done that enough times in my career as an engineer. I'm sure the same thing is true for developers of computer software too.

Totally. The GPU Industry, how many GPU’s can you make that it takes 3 weeks for someone to look at them and blow their brains out instead of buying one.
Same for laptops. I shudder when someone calls me and says “Hey, you know about computers, what laptop should I buy?” I just say who dis and hang up. I don’t know what it’s like in Canada but the list of Laptops available at any one time in Australia is impossible to contend with. I actually say what is your budget, look at the local appliance store and throw a dart.

I'm like others here, I didn't last long watching that rambling video either.

More to the point with all this is the difference between running either a 14900K or 13900K with the power limits removed bios setting and the recommended Intel settings PL2 set to max out at 253. The screen shots are from Techpowerup's full review of the 14900K.

With Cinebench R23 and 2024 on my system (13900K) the difference between stock and power limits removed is only 2%.

All Intel have to say instead of rambling is that there isn't much point in running its 13th and 14th gen CPU's with the power limits removed.

I used to follow that guy back in his earlier days. He used to post from his kitchen repairing systems. Then his rambling just got worse. He started out as an Intel snob. Hardware Unboxed released an updated video further explaining the Intel issue.

Over and over again I find myself telling folks it's about user preference. I know that sounds like a worn out pat answer but it's a bottom line reality. There really is no "one size fits all" in the PC world but one can come close. The answer to that question is what do you use your laptop for? Even then there will be 100s of selections to choose from in most cases. So other considerations can be made once the usage is established : Amount of RAM, processing power, graphics, storage etc. Then there is quality to take into consideration and aesthetics and design. Finally there is the warranty to consider and support. Once this is done you can usually narrow it down to two or three choices.

I actually usually say “Buy a gaming laptop” for no other reason than they are built for power. I could be very wrong, but it’s one view.

I usually just look at linus tech tips reviews for laptops, or best of lists or the rtings website.

There is a lot of models out there.

Same, for the exact reasons. Also he is from Australia, someone asked him (about 2 years ago) why him and his mate ONLY post in US dollars, they said oh well get over it. I thought well you are talking about availability here yet......
