I read on ZDNET that tabbed explorer didn't make the cut for the 20th but would be there in the October update.

Did you try Task Manager? I use TM a lot and the difference is major. I like it.

I wonder whether the same method that enabled the tabbed Explorer in the Insider build applies to the release build as well? (I'm on 22622.598, and can't check.)

Microsoft sure know how to piddle people off - I was expecting to have tabbed explorer in this update. Everything I've read and seen has been screaming from the rafters about tabbed explorer coming out when 22H2 is released. Well, I've got it installed and no tabbed explorer. A kick in the teeth for it to not be here in my update. Thanks Microsoft :rolleyes: It was the ONE thing (the only thing I gave a damn about really) I was looking forward to for the 22H2 update.

You need to visit the forums here more often :-). I've know for about a month now that it wouldn't be in the final release and that it was coming some time later, although I only discovered today that it was officially slated for October.

I'm joking with you (to some degree), but I completely understand what you are saying. It's really hard to keep track of these details and Microsoft is sometimes really lousy at communicating details to us poor users.

thanks for bringing this up, nope it doesn't. Previously I had the preview build and that enablement package did the trick. On another machine I had the final release and after installing the enablement package, it didn't do anything.

Nah, Been on it for months, Best thing is the task manager and i even forgot that they had updated that xD.

I use Task Manager a lot and love the new structure. Dark mode is really welcome.

well there was old task manager that we all know..and then there new more up to date looking version. The xD is an emoji if you look at it side on
