No .url file type

I just reinstalled Win 11. I don't have the .url file type. Is there any way too fix this?

I also don't see this file type (extension) in the list of defaults. It's quite old file type since the times of Windows 95/98 and Internet Explorer, Windows 11 still has one in %userprofile%\Favorites, but in fact it's not used because now any browser has its own bookmark system.

I created another file for test, more simple: microsoft.url

Both of them open the web address in Chrome, my default browser. If you don't have Chrome, it should be opened in Edge.

That's right. .URL is no longer one of the file types in Windows 11. May I ask what your purpose is for using it. I'm taking a wild guess here that it has something to do with changing your default browser. If that's so, change .htm and .html from Edge to the browser of your choice. Also .pdf unless it is already set to a pdf viewer app of some kind.
