Not possible to install a program in Win11/24H2

When trying to update a program , I get ; " Runtime-error 62.328 , "This promotion is only valid for products that are currently installed".
HOW (?) can the program , a previous version is already installed, only tried to update it.
When uninstalling this previous version , rebooted , tried again to istall ; same error appeared .....

How to fix this error , it has nothing to do with Office , sfc /scannow did not found errors also.
Appreciate some help , maybe someone else encountered the same problem !

It would help if we knew what program it is. You might try uninstalling the previous version, (I would do it using Revo Uninstaller making sure all leftover files and registry entries Revo finds are checked and deleted), restart, then try installing the updated version.

Yes, uninstalled with Total Uninstall and removed leftover after reboot , did not help.
Program is ; Abelssoft.SSD.Fresh.2026.v15.02.61941.
While the previous is version ; v14.0.56618

You must have the older version installed and registered (if it is a paid-for version).

Abelssoft offer free support via email. Have you tried them yet? Does v14 work?

The error you quoted does not appear anywhere on the internet apart from in this forum so it's unusual. Could it be that the promotion has expired?

Who is the manufacturer of your SSD(s)? It is better to use their own utilities. Half of Abelssoft's tweaks are performed automatically by the Windows OS.

Its a 250GB , no problems , started in XP , Win7 , Win10 , Win11/23H2 , now in Win11/24H2..........
Trimming once a month , trim-service on manual .

Samsung Magician is 500 MB, which is only 0.4% of the drive. Windows will TRIM once a week normally, although you can adjust it. What does Abelssoft Fresh do that Windows does not already do?

Hearkening back to Bulletin Board days and getting Shareware downloads reminds that programs were designed so when installed then uninstalled without buying left behind a marker in the drive that they had once been there. Trying to install again to avoid the registration would fail. Only solution then was to buy the program or wipe the drive clean and start over [only took once for me to learn that].
