Notepad jumps to top of page every time I minimize then click on the app; is there a setting to stop this?

Hello,

Just got Windows 11 with Notepad++. Is there a way (a setting) to get Notepad++ to keep the cursor where I leave it--or at least to leave it at the end of the document--when I minimize the app, so that when I return to it I don't have to scroll from the start of the document to the bottom to find my place?

I use it for lots of notes throughout the day and don't want to have to scroll down through pages of text every time I minimize it and then click on the icon in the taskbar to call it up.

There is no option for "Preferences" in my "Settings" for Windows 11 (see screenshot). I also looked in the Notepad++ settings. Can you be more specific about where to find Preferences? Thanks.

Edwin, how do I find/get to Template.txt - Notepad++ ? Did you get there via the Windows Start menu? I tried searching there but it did not find it. Thanks.

Look at the screen shot from @Edwin .
Top of notepad, Settings / Preferences / then the drop down menu should include
Backup and mine MISC.

There is no option for Preferences. See screenshot for what displays when I click on the Settings button in Notepad ++

If it's possible to install the older version of Notepad on Windows 11, how is that done? Never had any problems with that version.

Like I said, I don't use NPP so, we might have to wait until @Edwin

I know it’s annoying, 4 times out of 10, when I try mousing over the start menu button, my mouse cursor jumps half way up the screen. I gave up caring.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) that isn’t the case. Mouse jumps are annoying.

Anyway, not to the point of this thread. Edwin probably fixed this?

That is not Notepad++ in your screenshot! That is Windows Notepad!
