With a text written in notepad and going to the Edit menu and Find submenu I can't write anything in the text box to locate. I simply type in the text and nothing is written. Has this happened to anyone and if so how did you solve it?

Works fine for me too, when opening find submenu option focus is moved to the find box as well. Can you Tab into the find box?

My Notepad's File, Open brings up File Explorer with its list of files with .txt as the default type.

Oh. That must be the new notepad as I don't have find unless I first open notepad, then go to file menu ,and then open so all my txt files show up. Then I can perform a find operation. whew.

Are you using the new notepad? Looks like some are having problems with it. You could try repairing or reset if repair doesn't work.apps> Apps and features>notepad> three dot to the right>advanced settings> repair (and or) reset.
