My screen display wont go all the way to the edges of the HDTV
When set on 1920 by 1080, it overfills (overscans ) and display edges are no longer visible, X button etc...
When set on 1768 x 992, it is off from the HDTV edges by about 3/8"
This a Sharp HDTV max resolution is 1080i

Resize I thought would allow you to move and stretch or shrink the image on the display HDTV

Resize I thought would allow you to move and stretch or shrink the image on the display HDTV

When I click Enable desktop resizing, the "resize" button lights up, for either my DELL monitor or my LG low def, TV.

I would therefore guess, that either the driver is corrupt, or that there is some other issue which bears on this.

Sometimes, when MS install a vid card driver, over top of the currently installed one... problems arise.
I would do this...

First, do this...

Then do this... (especially the part about disconnecting the internet)

DDU Instructions - Nvidia
1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get the DCH/Game Ready vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: Advanced Driver Search | NVIDIA ...save this to your desktop.
Unhook the internet completely.
3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install.
[See pics below]. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.

This is an old pic. You may not have the NGX portion of the driver. If so... that's OK.

=======================================================================

To get to Safe Mode... in the "Run" box, type: msconfig ...then do the following.
To get back to Normal Mode, do the same, but un-check the "Safe boot" box...

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Found a solution from a poster on Nvidia forum, no need to reinstall drivers or any funky stuff

"Solved!!!! In the Nvidia control panel/change res. Change the res to 720p, 1280x720.Then go to Adjust desktop size and position/size and resize shouldn't be grayed out. Then once you have resized to fit your screen change the res to custom made 1366x768 at 60hz, It will then stay resized.took a couple hours to work it out but i got it....if ya need any help just PM me"

*********************************************************************************************

You have to set resolution first to native for the TV so 720p, 1280 by 720
Then you resize the screen, fit it , say ok

Then go back to change resolution to 1920 by 1080.
Then go back to resize, and suddenly the resize option is available for use
Now Nvidia control panel says 1824 by 1026

Took a snip to show it

None of this obvious to a user of this control panel. I am sure lots of people just put up with a slightly shrunk image when using an HDTV as a monitor.
