I can see where Steve is coming from but many PC users have different needs. For example, with the GPU I have there wouldn't be any point in updating. But for someone who hasn't updated for say 5 years that could be real benefits in updating to a RTX 5000 series GPU.
It doesn't matter a stuff here in Kiwi land because you can't buy one of these new cards, and probably not for at least 3 months.

The problem here currently is NOTHING is in stock. At least in the higher tier GPUs or ones being sold for a reasonable price. It seems the manufacturers have stopped or seriously slowed producing older GPUs. Even last gen ones. I think the vendors have learned just how they can keep profit margins HIGH. Someone paid like $9000 for a 5090 on eBay. That is beyond stupid.
