Solved Office 2019 UK and the ~ symbol

I have UK keyboard and a fairly large Excel sheet where I have used symbols a lot so it would be useful to be able to find each one.
All is fine except for the ~ symbol?
When I use the 'Find' icon or Ctrl+F for the anything that contains the ~ symbol it cannot find anything even though there are multiple locations.
It finds everything containing the # symbol.
If cannot find ~ on its own.
If I search for #~ together it finds cells that contain the # but not the ~.
It's as if it cannot see the ~ symbol?

Is this a bug? Does anyone have a workaround please?

A cedilla is this: c cedilla ç
Your are pointing at a tilda sign.
For instance used in Spanish ñ
But on it's own: ~
What happens if you type a space after that key?
That's how it functions on the US International keyboard (with dead keys) layout, which in the Netherlands is very commonly used.

But wait, I see, that's not your real problem, it's the searching in Excel.
That I cant test because I don't use Excel anymore.
In Softmaker Office / Planmaker it does find the ~ sign without problems.
That program has Open Office / Libre Office as base.
Sorry for the confusion.

Anyway: if you want to search the net, you should use 'tilda' or 'tilde' to find suggesetions about that character.

Searching for the tilde (~) in Excel can be tricky because it's a special character used in formulas. When searching for it in the “Find and Replace” tool, Excel interprets the tilde as an escape character, meaning it expects another special character after it.
